All my life, like Navan in "The Jerk", I've looked for my special purpose. I had assumed all of these years that since I constantly place my foot in my mouth, my gift must be speech or some form of public speaking. Then, last month a series of events, similar to a domino effect, occurred and to make an incredibly confusing and boring story short, I had the opportunity to study Reiki.

The Sensi was a wonderful woman who is an anthropologist who spent 15 years in Thailand. She is Wiccan and wise and I feel honored to have been her student.

So... I need to practice this new art and become more proficient. If any of you have issues you think I might be able to address, I am able to do distance healing. Just let me know.

There is a new trend among some of the people on here and it has prompted me to make an addition to my "Dislikes" listing

A new "dislike" is people who add me as a friend and then put the hard sell on me to buy some item from them like books or handcrafted items. It's ok to offer an item for sale once, but try to strong arm me into buying or try harrassing me with repeated offers and I'll end that friendship faster than you can recite the Witches' Rede.

Hi Everyone,

I just returned from a wonderful vacation with my Significant Other in Santa Fe. The trip was great.. we had perfect weather, got some fantastic photos (he is a professional photographer), had delicious meals, saw wonderful art... the only downside to the whole trip was the airport delays in Chicago. I have never been into or out of O'Hare on time. I don't know if I'm cursed or if it's just the airport itself.

Anyway, I'm adopting a new cat. She is a rescued animal with special needs. I have special needs as well and something tells me that we will each fill the other's needs for a long time to come.

Classes in one school began last week and in the other school this week. I don't look forward to the insane schedule that comes along with school but it drives me nearer to my goal.

I mourn the passing of my faithful companion for the past 18 years.

Life is good.

I finally finished my math class (the first of 3) and passed!  What a relief!  I'm an artist... not a mathematician .

Now if I can just concentrate on French and finish it up, the worst of my classes will be done. I plan to celebrate by eating Ben & Jerry's Dublin Mudslide and washing it down with Bailey's while watching a movie.  It's very important to reward good behavior!
